Since incorporation, CIFI has experienced the overwhelmed response from the Industry. The number of industry participants became members of CIFI. The number of members is mounting new heights day by day.
CIFI was also successful in representing the industry at various forums. CIFI has made number of representations before Government Authorities for the benefit of the industry. The representations incudes various aspects such as Tax, Labour Laws, Export related etc. CIFI has made representations before the government authorities to enhance the excise exemption limit available to footwear from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 1000/-
Introductory meetings of CIFI were conducted in various parts of the Country to boost up the number of members. This also helped to have wide publicity.
CIFI has arranged a South African visit in association with KSSIA (Kerala State Small Industries Association) and CLE (Council of Leather Exports). CIFI was also successful in organizing Kerala Footwear Expo – Dubai.
CIFI plans to conduct aggressive Membership Campaign programmes across the Country. To be a national level organisation and to be an Apex body for the footwear industry, number of members is very relevant.
CIFI jointly with various organisations plans for a “B2B Meet” at Hyderabad in October this year. A mega event “Footwear Expo Kerala -2014” with the theme “Rising Kerala – 2014” will be held in November this year at Calicut. Another event, “Footwear Expo Kerala – B2B Meet” is scheduled in March, 2015 at Dubai.
