OBJECTIVES

  • Increase Excise Duty exemption limit of footwear to MRP of Rs. 1000/-

  • Footwear components to be fully exempted from excise duty to promote small scale production.

  • Declare the footwear with MRP below Rs.1000/- as an items for common man consumptions and reduce VAT to 5% or less all over India.

  • Footwear sector to be treated at par at with Apparel sector considering it ability to create much needed employment for unskilled as well as socially and educationally backward communities.

  • Ministry of Commerce should have separate council for footwear segment.

  • Introduce Anti-dumping duty – To discourage Import of Footwear.

  • Reduce Customs & Excise duty for raw-materials – PU, EVA, PVC etc.

  • Create a platform for buyers and seller in India to meet up and carry out business..

  • To ensure participation from international buyers.

  • National & International trade meets between buyers and sellers to create Export opportunities to the domestic footwear manufacturers.

  • Conduct product exhibitions like canton fair to show case Indian products to the world.

  • Work with Government to conceptualize and implement Skill development programs to create a talent pool for the industry as well to create employment for the masses.

  • Organizing technical events and industry interactions (like polymers / Petrochem to source best materials) to provide access to best materials and technology.

  • Support industry participants and member firms to reach out to appropriate national and international forums.

  • Develop industry best practices for enhanced efficiency and business effectiveness.
